This week was a “back to work” training week for me.  I got sick with the flu on Thursday, January 22nd.  As a result that week was very short (riding only on Tuesday and Wednesday) plus I didn’t ride until Thursday of this past week.  It was a total of 7 days off of the bike.   So, when I got back on the bike on Thursday I was a little behind plan.  I ended up riding Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.  I didn’t try to do any hard intervals.  My goal was just to get my body used to riding again.  Sunday’s ride was a little over 50 miles and was an almost perfect recovery ride.  It really helped me get my legs back.

The Week Ahead

I feel pretty much back on track so I will try to get in a regular week’s worth of riding in.  Hopefully that will be 5-6 hours of riding.  Next week is the Tundra Time Trial (February 14th).  As a result I will ride a little easier that week to make sure I am rested for the race.
