Weekly Update For August 31, 2008

Week In Review

Here is my activity review for the week ended Aug 31th, 2008.

  • Time Spent Training-9:10
  • Miles Ridden-163.75
  • TSS (training stress score)-629
  • Weight-163
  • TSS YTD-14,226
  • Total Miles YTD-3,406
  • Total Hours YTD-195:13

This last week was a good one. I got in as much work as I was planning on and in the process got my highest mileage week of the year and my highest mileage month ever. I ended the month of August with 631.5 miles which beat my previous high mileage month (June of this year) by exactly one mile. It’s amazing how that happened :-) Needless to say when I saw that I was so close to my best month ever I made sure to ride enough on Sunday in order to do it. I got in a couple of good workouts, on Tuesday and Saturday. These were fairly hard rides. Saturday’s ride was 51 miles and was at about 90% of my FTP. I dialed it down on Sunday and rode at a moderate pace with the group.

The Week Ahead

This coming week will be fairly normal. I will try to get in 6-8 hours of riding with at least one of those days being 50 miles plus at a higher than average pace. At some point in the next week or two I will do a ride in the mountains but the exact scheduling of it is still up in the air depending on who else can make it. When I do that ride I want it to be at least 3 of the six gaps and ideally 4, including Hogpen. The Six Gap century is 27 days away and I really want one more hard day of climbing under my belt.

I will try to update the charts on My Power Stats Page in the next day or so. That will show how the month of August contributed to my overall training.

Until then, ride safe!
