The Best Valentine’s Day Gift Ever

Love Is In The Air

Valentine’s Day is a couple of days away and everywhere you look people are trying to come up with “the perfect gift” for their spouse, partner, family, fiance or other important person in their life. It also seems that every company wants to sell you one of their products to help you show your love. What will you get your Valentine this year? Will it be flowers, chocolate, jewelry or perhaps dinner at an expensive restaurant? My answer to all of those is- No, No, No and No! Well, maybe a little candy is OK, but keep reading :-)

Give The Greatest Gift Ever

May I suggest an alternative? Something that will last long after the 14th of February. Something that won’t wilt in a vase full of water after 4 days. Something that won’t require a 2nd mortgage to purchase. Something that will be cherished, and appreciated for years and years. What I’m suggesting is something that is far superior to any product and shows your love for the important people in your life far better. This year, instead of a physical item or over-priced meal, give the gift that will mean so much more….

A Healthier You!

Think about it for a minute. What gift could be better than that? Candy, flowers, chocolates and even diamonds all pale in comparison to health.  When it comes right down to it, a healthier you means a longer-lasting, more productive you. That’s exactly what the important people in your life would love to have.

So, if you’ve promised yourself time and time again that you are going to “eat better”, “lose some weight”, “get in shape” or “exercise more” why not make Valentine’s day the starting point? Use the opportunity to really show the important people in your life how much you care for them.

Along with that small box of chocolates I said you could give, include a card that tells your loved one your intentions and that you would like their support in your quest to improve yourself. Then, after you give the card make sure to follow up on your promise. Take your health seriously and do what you can to improve it. If not for you, than do it for the ones you love.

So, this year, instead of (or in addition to) a box of chocolates or bunch of flowers, consider giving your Valentine the gift of health. My guess is that your gift will be very well received and just might be the best Valentines day gift ever!

Nice post! Although one has to wonder: Since you are already in shape, is this just a way for you to avoid getting your patient wife a gift??? :)
