Sweetwater Wet Dream

It’s All In The Name

When a beer is called Wet Dream you have to wonder, at least a little bit.  In this case, Sweetwater Brewing, here in Atlanta, may have the perfect name.  This beer is “wet hopped” with 420 pounds (for a 50 barrel batch) of fresh Chinook hops straight from the farm in Washington.  The result is supposed to be a beer with a ton of hop flavor and aroma.  How did they do:

Wet Dream is a very tasty beer that has a lot of hop aroma and taste.  If you like hops, this beer will probably satisfy, no dreaming needed ;-) The hops come out in a grassy, wet pine forest kind of way and match up pretty good with the malt.  This beer is drinkable and flavorful, and has all of the hop stuff without much of the bitterness.  I think the wet hopping has a huge influence on all aspects of this beer.  I enjoyed the beer and would recommend it, if you can find it.  Sweetwater has fairly limited distribution and this is a limited release beer (they only brewed 50-80 barrels of this I believe).  Try it if you can!
