Samuel Adams Noble Pils And Pizza

Beer And Pizza Time

Samuel Adams Noble Pils is part of their Seasonal Beer Collection and is brewed with all 5 varieties of the “Noble Hops”.  I picked up a six pack to try with a pizza I made that was topped with roasted garlic , onions, arugula, and tomatoes:

Noble Pils is a nice, clean refreshing beer.  It has a great hop aroma full of floral and citrus with  hint of bitterness.  The taste is pretty much like the smell but with a nice level of carbonation.  The aftertaste is crisp and clean with a slight hop bite at the end.  This is a light bodied beer for sure but is a lot more than the “fizzy yellow water” you get with a typical macro beer.  Noble Pils is a solid beer that goes great with pizza, and probably a lot of other food.  Definitely give this one a try!

The Pizza

Here’s the recipe I came up with for the pizza that I paired with the Noble Pils.  It uses an Olive oil based sauce instead of tomato sauce.  The arugula and salami add  some zip to complement the roasted garlic , onions and cherry tomatoes:

  • 1 Ready made pizza dough
  • 1 Medium Onion sliced thin
  • 1 Head Garlic
  • 1 cup Grape or Cherry Tomatoes sliced in half
  • Arugula
  • 3-4 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 3 oz Salami sliced into thin strips
  • Parmesan/Romano and Mozzarella cheese to taste

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Take onions and tomatoes, toss in Olive oil and place on baking pan and roast with the garlic for 30 minutes or until garlic gets soft.  Peel garlic and mix with roasted tomatoes and onions.  Add some olive oil if necessary.  Spread mixture on pizza dough, add sliced salami and arugula and top with cheese.  Bake at 400 for 15 minutes or until cheese and crust begin to brown.

Serve with a nice beer and enjoy!
