Red Brick Double Chocolate Oatmeal Stout

A Hometown Porter

I can’t believe this but I haven’t reviewed any beers from one of my “hometown” brewers, Atlanta Brewing Company.  Well, that’s about to change.  Here is my review of their Double Chocolate Oatmeal Porter:

I really enjoyed this beer. There is a nice chocolate and coffee flavor and the ABV is well hidden. Drinkability is pretty good as well. Red Brick Double Chocolate Oatmeal Porter is a solid beer and deserving of your own tasting. Try it out if you can.

Here is the score:

  1. Appearance- 6 points (out of 10)
  2. Smell- 7 points (out of 10)
  3. Taste- 17 points (out of 20)
  4. Drinkability- 8 points (out of 10)

Total 38 (out of 50) Points- A 4 Mug Rating

Sounds like a really nice beer! I like Oatmeal Stouts (stouts in general really) Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ve seen their stuff up here in Jersey. :-(

      Hi Scott,

Stouts are one of my favorite styles as well. This was a good one for sure. Atlanta Brewing has a fairly limited distribution area (mostly the Southeast) so if you saw one in NJ it was probably smuggled up there! Thanks for reading and commenting.
