PBR Me ASAP
Pabst Blue Ribbon is a “classic” American beer. It was founded in 1844 and was once one of the larger brewers in the country, producing 22 million barrels back in the late 1970′s. Well, their popularity faded and the company has been bought and sold a few times since then. Recently PBR has gained a “retro hip” reputation. I’ve had it a number of times over the last 30 years but haven’t had one in a while. I decided to bring out my buddy Andre The Giant to help me review this beer after an afternoon of yard work:
Here is the score:
- Appearance- 5 points (out of 10)
- Smell- 3 points (out of 10)
- Taste- 7 points (out of 20)
- Drinkability- 9 points (out of 10)
Total 24 (out of 50) Points- A 3 Mug Rating
ABV 4.75%
Approximate Calories
295-371(24oz)

I have never had a PBR in my life. I do remember my father drinking these however. May have to give it a try on a hot day.
Hey Scott,
PBR is a decent Hot Day beer plus it’s a classic! Definitely worth a try.
