Big Green Egg Time
Ok, it’s been a while since I did a beer and food pairing using the Big Green Egg. I haven’t used the ‘egg in a couple of weeks and I was itching to fire it up. So, I picked up a London Broil at the store and decided to pair it up with a brand new beer from New Belgium Brewing, their Ranger IPA. I marinated the London Broil for a few hours in a simple marinade of Worcestershire sauce and ketchup and tossed it on the grill:
Ranger IPA is a good one! New Belgium did their first IPA effort proud with this beer. The beer pours very nice and has a nice slightly off-white head. The aroma is pretty much classic IPA with a nice Pine and Citrus components. The beer had enough malt and good carbonation. It felt good in the mouth with a lighter body. The aftertaste had a nice hop bite to it. Drinkability is very good as well. I like this beer and will try to add it to my “IPA Rotation” as soon as possible. Good Job New Belgium!

Sounds like an excellent pairing. Never had a London Broil, but I will take a stab at it once it warms up a bit more here.
It is a great match. But then, just about any IPA seems to go well with grilled beef. Definitely try it out if you can. London Broil works well on the grill.
good review. Its a great IPA. I don’t drink IPA too often, but I’d have this if I was even in the mood. My father, who almost exclusively drinks IPA’s, LOVES this. The only other IPA that he likes more is “Green Flash”. (Breckenridge Brewery?)
This beer is also good with a nice tofu curry- if you dont do the meat thing.
Ranger is a very good IPA. They got the recipe right with this one.
I could easily see this beer going really well with a spicy tofu dish, that sounds very good!
