A Coast To Coast Collaboration
Sierra Nevada Brewing in Chico California and Dogfish Head in Milton Delaware have combined forces to produce their first collaborative beer, Life And Limb. It is brewed with barley grown on the Grossman “farm” in Chico and Maple Syrup from the Calagione family farm in Massachusetts. I had heard and read about this beer but forgot when it was going to be released. I was in the beer store last week and saw it, which reminded me that I needed to get some and try it:
Life and Limb is a fantastic beer. The beer looks great in the glass and drinks even better. It has a great aroma and taste. The sweetness of the Maple syrup is unique. The 10%ABV is fairly well hidden making it a fairly drinkable. The only negative is that this is a pretty expensive brew. I paid $9.99 for the 24oz bottle. That being said, you need to try this beer if at all possible. It is a limited release so it may be hard to find. Hopefully this is only the 1st collaboration between these two breweries!
