So, its 3 days after the century ride and my legs are still a little heavy. There is not much snap in them at all. Today, time was short after work, so I rode for 45 minutes at a moderate pace on one of my normal routes. I was not able to accelerate like “normal” and I found it still a little hard to push the pace, so I didn’t. I wasn’t sore, just slow.
Looking at the Powertap file from the ride a little closer I realized that the TSS score for the century was 420, which basically means, if you believe the “training with power gurus”, that it was a tough ride from a training load perspective. So, it should take a few days to fully recover from a ride like this. I guess I shouldn’t be too concerned. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow after my, hopefully, hour plus ride.
