Yeah, 10+ dollars for a bottle is pretty steep. But, it is an excellent beer. I don’t buy a lot of these types of beer either. Every once in a while is fine though.

Great review. I have seen some of these at the shop I go to, but it’s hard to justify spending that much on a single bottle. I might splurge and save it for Christmas (or another special occasion).

Hey Chris,

The Macallan is the only one I’ve had but I want to try a couple others. I have enjoyed all the BrewDog beers I’ve had so far and would love to try the Bismark and Tactical Nuclear Penguin. They are definitely pushing the bounds as far as what “beer” is! Oh, by the way, I have a bottle of DFH 120 (and maybe another in a couple of weeks), would you and Randy be interested in trying it?

Hey Mark,

I’ve had a couple from this line, and I agree they’re fantastic. You should check out the Glen Grant incarnation; It’s superb. Also, did you hear about Sink the Bismarck!? A 43% ABV quadruple IPA. These guys are crazy.

I have to agree with you on the Founders B-Stout, I love that stuff! You sound like a big ‘big-stout’ fan. If you can get them, both ‘B.O.R.I.S. the Crusher’ by Hop Froggin Brewery, and ‘Bourbon County Stout’ by Goose Island are great! I am not sure if either one of those gets distributed in your neck of the woods. Oh yeah, Peche Mortel from Canada is another great ‘breakfast beer’ with a huge coffee flavor.

Btw: Tell your brother to hold on to a bottle of Southern Tier’s ‘Oak Aged Unearthly’, it will rock your hop-lovin socks off!

I hope my experience with the Passat help you make a good decision.

I reviewed the Smuttynose IPA last Summer so do a search on the blog and you should find it. Smuttynose makes some good beers and we seem to get many of them down here.

Thanks for replying to my email, I look forward to the upcoming fitness segments and always, needless to say, the BEER! I had a Southern Tier Jahva a few weeks ago, one of my favorites. Have you ever had a Smuttynose IPA “Finest Kind”? If you can’t get them down there let me know, they just started popping up here in Jersey. A great beer, top five personal favorite IPAs.

Hi Chris!

You are right about the appearance. Yuengling Bock looks nice in the glass and the taste isn’t bad either, especially for the price. I’ve got 1 bottle left from my six pack which I think I’ll drink tonight after we get back from bowling league. Hopefully it will be to celebrate a win!
