Beer Review: Yuengling Bock
Bock Time
It was another nice day in Atlanta. I got in a nice long bike ride, did some yard work, and spent some more time out on the porch. To help me enjoy the beautiful day I decided to try the newest offering from Americas oldest brewery, Yuengling, which began brewing beer in 1829. Their Bock beer is brewed from late January until the end of March and is meant to herald the coming of Spring:
Yuengling Bock is a tasty brew. It is not real complex but it has some nice caramel malt sweetness and a bit of breadiness. I also got a little bit of dark fruit. There was a nice touch of hops as well. Drinkability is way up there, helped by the low ABV. This is a good beer to enjoy as you watch Winter turn into Spring. Once again Yuengling has brewed a very drinkable beer that is several steps above the usual macro stuff. If you enjoy a slightly darker beer with a hint of malt sweetness, try the Yuengling Bock, and help them stick around for another 180 years!

I recently tried a bottle of Yuengling Bock and to me it was very similar to regular Yuengling but with a good bit more caramel malts and dark fruit flavors. Nice Review!
Hi Tim,
Glad you liked the review!
I really enjoy Yuengling beers. They aren’t the most complex beers but they are easy drinking with a lot more to them then the macro stuff. The price is pretty good as well. I don’t think you can go wrong with them at all.
I also recently bought a six pack of this, and like it as much as I expected I would. Not the best bock I’ve ever had, but for the price you can’t go wrong. To me, the appearance/color of the beer in the glass is fantastic.
Hi Chris!
You are right about the appearance. Yuengling Bock looks nice in the glass and the taste isn’t bad either, especially for the price. I’ve got 1 bottle left from my six pack which I think I’ll drink tonight after we get back from bowling league. Hopefully it will be to celebrate a win!
