A Day At The R/C Glider Field

Time To Fly

Well, after 3 months of bad weather, I was finally able to fly my Radian electric powered glider.  I bought the plane to help me get back into radio control airplanes, specifically gliders.  It’s easy to fly and repair (hopefully I won’t need that) :-)   I figured that if I enjoy it I can upgrade and get a nicer glider later on.

This past weekend had calm winds and temperatures in the 60′s.  I headed out to the local field and launched the plane successfully.  There were a bunch of other members of the local R/C Soaring club out at the field as well so I spent some time watching the “experts” have some fun:

I had a lot of fun and learned a lot by watching and talking to the other guys.  I’m hooked again and am looking forward to developing my “thermal hunting” skills!
